There are thousands of financial professionals for you to choose from. Sometimes wading through those waters can be a bit murky. Recently I received a message asking me what makes me different than the others out there vying for your business. So today, I’m sharing why you should choose to work with me. I’m a get what you see kind of guy.
Those that know me, know that I love working with business owners. Many business owners have 80% of their net worth tied up in their business. Most of us that are business owners don’t have a ton of money set back in retirement accounts. They just don’t. And as a business owner, I’ve been one pretty much my whole life, and I get that about them. Not many financial people work with individuals that have a smaller asset base.
In my industry, it’s not uncommon to see “financial people” that say you have to have a quarter of a million dollars, or even a million dollars worth of assets before we will even take you one as a client. So if 80% of my assets are in my business, then who is going to help me make sure that my assets or my business are efficient and growing as responsible as possible. So that is where I come in.
I love working with business owners. I like showing them how to take their one asset, which is illiquid—it’s not even liquid, it is beyond illiquid—and show them how to maximize its efficiency, spend as much income as we can from that business and position it to where one day we can transition it to sell it either to our family or an outside buyer somehow. That is what my passion is.
So what makes me different is that I don’t have these minimums, where you have to have a quarter of a million dollars or a million dollars before I will work with you. If you are a business owner and you’ve run into that, that is not me. I’m an ole country boy that loves to ride his tractor—did I tell you I have a tractor—on the weekends. And if I can figure out how to eat pizza while riding my tractor, I’m pretty sure I’d be in heaven.
